No wonder Ethan Addie warms up for his routine with a pre-show dance. His show, 'Rookie Mistakes' at Station 59 in Richmond, is one energetic half-hour full of laugh out loud gags.
Ethan shimmies and woos through narratives of his recent love quests and his introduction to the Melbourne and London gay community. His anecdotes are relatable and his wit is impressive. Although the material was be a bit hard to follow at times, and could be more varied as to appeal to a wider audience, Addie is a charmer and his laughs come hard and fast.
Having done shows at the Melbourne Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this lanky comic is only just starting out, but is one of the most promising talents of the festival. With some persistence, this talented comic could soon be selling out packed rooms.
With mannerisms that alone evoke laughs, and a natural charm for risky comedy, Addie is one to watch. I'm excited for what's to come.
